Review of the Younique Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes

It isn’t often that I am asked to review make-up, but being the mascara addict that I am I jumped at the chance to review the Younique Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes. I have heard about this mascara but the reviews were pretty mixed, so I was excited to discover the truth about this product.

The Younique Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes was sent to me for free in return for an honest and unbiased review of the product. For those who would like to buy it, it is available from Nikki Zielinski for £23.00 a set from her Facebook account or her Make Me Fabulash website.

I would also like to add that this review is completely impartial. I do not work for Younique nor will I make any money from sales made as a result of this write up.

What are the Younique Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes?

First things first, what is this mascara and what does it do? The mascara is a duo set that promises to improve the thickness and volume of the lashes whilst still looking completely natural. How it achieves it, is that a coat of the transplanting gel sticks tiny fibres to your lashes to create a thicker, longer lash.

First Impression of the Younique Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes

My first impression was actually wow! The Younique 3D Fiber Lashes set comes in a lovely storage box which looks very much like a glasses case. Also included in the box are a set of full instructions which contain helpful tips to make the most out of the mascara. I was really impressed with the quality so far.

Putting on the Younique Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes

I watched a couple of tutorial videos before reading the instructions. This was to ensure that I used the mascara properly and gave a fair review of the product. The method used was the same in each video and the boxed instructions, so that’s the method I adopted.

Step 1

Open both mascara wands so you can use each one quickly but leave them inside the tubes.

Apply a thin coat of Transplanting Gel to the lashes on the first eye. It helps to wiggle the brush to get an even coat on each lash. Ensure that there is plenty of gel applied.

Step 2

Quickly grab the Natural fibre wand and apply the fibre to the eyelashes. The fibres will stick to the transplanting gel and create a longer, thicker lash straight away. Give the brush a really good wiggle to ensure that the lashes are completely covered.

Step 3

Whilst the first eye dries, follow steps 1 and 2 with your second eye.

Step 4

Return to your first eye and apply another layer of transplanting gel, quickly followed by more fibres and do the same with the second eye. This builds up another thick layer and creates the ‘false lash’ look.

If you prefer a lighter lash, I found that one coat was sufficient.

Step 5 – VERY IMPORTANT

Add a final layer of transplanting gel to seal the lashes and prevent the fibres from falling from the lashes. I found that this really helps to separate the lashes and give a more natural look.

Review of the Younique Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes

I found the mascara really easy to apply and the results looked great. My lashes feel natural, there is no stiffness and even after a full day’s work, the Younique Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes remained firmly in place. I did find that some of the fibres fell from the lashes but this was very minimal and after at least 4 hours of wear.

To combat this, I simply added another coat of transplanting gel to re seal the lash. To remove the fibres, I wet the end of a cotton bud and dabbed the fibres to lift them and the problem was solved. It’s around this time that I would normally top up my make up anyway.

Once the day was over, the mascara washed away with my regular make up remover and my natural lashes stayed in perfect condition. After a particularly heavy night on the prosecco, I fell asleep with a full face of make-up and the lashes still looked really good in the morning. However, I wouldn’t recommend that….

My thoughts on the Younique Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes

I love this mascara, it is a little pricey at £23 but it gives my lashes the thickness and length that I crave (oo..er). I’ve spent so much money on expensive mascaras in the past and I was genuinely impressed with this mascara. The results were long lasting and my lashes looked amazing from morning till night.

One warning I have is that there are a lot of fake Younique products out there so if you do want to buy the Younique Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes, ask around for a reputable Younique seller like Patricia Turner, for Blackburn shoppers,  or speak to Nikki herself about having the products delivered straight to you.

Would I buy this mascara again?

Yes I would, I absolutely love it.

9/10
