Help to Raise Funds for a Cold Cot
Something that we never told you after ETO…
I thought long and hard about whether I should post this, but knowing what I do know about the local community, we do anything to help each other.
Kris and I left the ETO Show on a high after two brilliant days in Birmingham and returned home to some very tragic news. A good friend of ours was heavily pregnant and days away from her due date. After a check-up at the hospital, they discovered that the baby had no heartbeat and labour was induced.
The reason that I am posting this is because I need your help. This wonderful couple gave birth to their baby girl and she was beautiful. Because of a special cold cot which keeps the baby cold and preserved, the couple had the opportunity to spend precious time with their daughter that they wouldn’t normally have had the privilege to enjoy after a still birth.
The baby had a naming ceremony and the couple dressed their lovely daughter in the pretty clothes they’d brought for her. They counted fingers and toes and introduced her to their closest family and friends. They took photographs and prints and spent time creating treasured memories with their beautiful daughter. Because of the cold cot, this family had the precious time they needed to help come to terms with an incredibly cruel blow.
Unfortunately, there were three other families who also had a stillborn baby at the same time but only one cold cot at the birthing centre. This amazing couple are desperately hoping to raise enough money to supply birthing centres all over the country with these cots so that more families can have the same experience that they had.
How can you help to raise funds for a Cold Cot?
Please give anything you can spare to the Just Giving Page and help to raise these much needed funds. They have raised enough to buy one cot in just two days and want to give back as much as they can.
If you can spare ANYTHING, it will be very gratefully received.
