Review of the Cannabis Lubricant
After months of reading about the rise of cannabis type products, it was inevitable that I would find myself in the possession of a Cannabis lubricant. For some reason, cannabis products appeal to the rebellious 14-year-old in my brain who wants to do something a little wild, but is too scared to actually break the law (honest….).
I bought the Cobeco Pharma Cannabis Lubricant from eBay for £14.99 myself. However, you will still get an unbiased and honest review of the product. I just wanted to try it out!
My first impression of the cannabis lubricant
I was so excited about this product. I knew very little about cannabis lubricant, and I really wanted to see what it was about. The lubricant is contained in squeezy tube packaging which has a flip open top so it’s easy to dispense and great to store.
There is a very distinctive cannabis leaf on the front and large lettering, so it probably isn’t a suitable option for those who prefer discreet products. The packaging was sealed in clear tape so I am confident that this lubricant is unused and follows hygiene guidelines.
What does cannabis lubricant contain?
This particular lubricant contains:
Aqua, Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Sodium Benzoate, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Polysorbate 20, Levulinic Acid, Aroma, Sodium Levulinate, Maltose, Sodium Hydroxide, Linalool, Agave Tequilana Leaf Extract, Sodium Saccharin, Parfum, Aspartame, Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil, Geraniol, D-Limonene
What is cannabis sativa seed oil?
My first port of call is the cannabis sativa seed oil. I have no idea what it is, and no idea what it does. Will it get my vagina stoned? With my vagina suddenly get the munchies and develop a mind of its own, chomping away at everything in sight until the whole world vanishes, like my own version of the Bermuda triangle?
However, when pressing the seeds and creating body care products like the cannabis lubricant, great care is taken to refine and remove the tetrahydrocannabinol, which is the psychoactive element of the cannabis plant.
What’s left, is a clear and colourless oil which is gentle for the skin and very hydrating.
What are the benefits of using cannabis lubricant?
For this particular lubricant, the benefits derive from the gentle water-based formula. As with most water-based lubrication, sexual pleasure is enhanced because sensation is increased.
For those who suffer with vaginal dryness after menopause or who simply require a lubricant which is kind to the skin, cannabis lube promises to be a gentle and long lasting supplement to the body’s natural lubrication.
Will cannabis lubricant give a positive drugs test?
With an increasing number of employers relying on drugs test to ensure a drug free workforce, cannabis products are a genuine concern for some people. However, as the tetrahydrocannabinol is removed from the lubricant and the product is placed on the skin. It doesn’t break the skin barrier, so the likelihood of anyone having a positive drugs test from cannabis lubricant is very unlikely.
Is cannabis lubricant condom friendly and safe to use with sex toys?
This particular brand of lubricant is water-based and safe to use with latex condoms and silicone sex toys.
My Review of the Cobeco Pharma Cannabis Lubricant
The Cobeco Pharma Cannabis Lubricant is easy to apply and has a clear, non-sticky formula. I applied a liberal amount and found that this was much more than I needed, so a little bit does go a long way.
Despite being clear, there is a slight smell to the product which isn’t unpleasant, more medicinal. It lingers on the skin for quite some time after use but I wasn’t too bothered by it. However, some people might be so bear that in mind. When using the lube with my sex toys, I found that the squeezable bottle enabled me to apply the product with one hand and the lubricant lasted for the whole time that I needed it.
After application, there were no ‘vaginal munchies’ (apart from the obvious) and to be honest I found this lube was very similar to other water-based lubricants. With a partner, it was enjoyable to use but I’ve also experienced the same effects with other much cheaper lubricants.
This is a nice lubricant but nothing to write home about. I feel that the price reflects the novelty value of the lubricant rather than the quality of the product, and for this reason I do believe that it is overpriced.
I will continue to use the lubricant to the end of the bottle but I wouldn’t buy it again, there are much cheaper lubricants out there which do exactly the same job.
